Ground Floor Artists was the first gallery to invite Jan Schrader back in 2022 to display her work, providing a pivotal boost that helped launch her professional art career. The experience encouraged her artistic growth and allowed her to explore new directions in her jazz-inspired creations.

During the DuPage Symphony performance of Mussorgsky’s Paintings at an Exposition, a select group of Naperville Art League artists, including Jan Schrader, displayed works for attendees. Schrader’s piece The Green Apple received excellent reviews, enhancing the classy and sophisticated atmosphere of the event.

Jan Schrader was the featured artist in this intimate, low-key show at Sweetwaters Coffee Shop. Visitors shared positive feedback and compliments on the displayed works, offering invaluable insight and encouragement.

Jan Schrader’s artwork was featured in a month-long summer exhibition at Blue Moon Gallery, alongside works from a local art group. The opening night turnout was spectacular, and two weeks later, Schrader gave an artist’s talk describing her artistic philosophy and creative approach.

PAST EVENT: The exhibition Canvas Riffs featured Jan Schrader’s jazz-infused art alongside a swinging three-piece jazz combo, a lively crowd, plenty of food, and merchandise available for purchase.

COMING UP! 3/17 – 9/14, 2026 at the Naperville Downtown Promenade: Eight of Jan Schrader’s jazz-inspired abstract works will be on display this summer at the vibrant Downtown Promenade in Naperville. The exhibition features a collection of work by Schrader alongside other talented artists from the Naperville Art League.

Creating art – paintings, sculpture, carvings, music, gives us the incredible power to create one-of-a-kind things; things unique in all the world.

To me, abstract art is like jazz on canvas. It develops as improvisation over a very basic plan. It’s all about the riffs.
